MyDoom as Weapon of Mass DDoS is no surprise!
London, UK - 27 July 2004, 14:30 GMT - MyDoom's latest variants have
caused some noticeable disruption to services at major search engines, including
Google, Yahoo, Altavista and Lycos, over the last 24 hours. This should come
as no surprise, given:
1. Launching crippling Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks has been
a standard component of many MyDoom variants; and
2. The number of insecure domestic and small business Windows computers, which
MyDoom variants specifically infect and often turn into zombies, continues
to grow.
