DDoS attack against Microsoft appears to have begun

news flash

London, UK - 2 February 2004, 15:00 GMT - Based on steadily dilating download time data for www.microsoft.com, the MyDoom.b Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack, which was supposed to have started tomorrow, appears to have already begun in more or less the same way as SCO's web site appeared on Saturday in the beginning. From several locations across the globe, the home page of Microsoft is now taking in excess of two to three times the normal response time to download at present.

With less than a day remaining before MyDoom.b mounts the full blown Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack against Microsoft, the mi2g Intelligence Unit has concluded that their online presence may not succumb to MyDoom the way that SCO has, unless the rate of infections begins to rise dramatically at some stage. At present, there is less than 10% proliferation of MyDoom.b in comparison to all MyDoom infections worldwide.
