RIAA under heavy DDoS attack as MyDoom spreads

London, UK - 27 February 2004, 8:30 GMT - The number of MyDoom infections has again begun rising worldwide as the malware's new variants multiply. In exactly one month since its initial discovery, the MyDoom family is dwarfing the damage caused by any other malware epidemic including SoBig. Overnight the web site of the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has come under crippling attack and has been intermittently inaccessible from a number of cities around the world including London, New York and Tokyo.
