MyDoom still doubling as hackers exploit open doors; FBI on trail

London, UK - 30 January 2004, 12:30 GMT - The number of MyDoom infections are still doubling as the malware shows no signs of subsiding four days on from when it was originally first captured in Russia. Meanwhile, the backdoors which MyDoom has created on millions of infected computers are being exploited by both domestic and trans-national hackers in most major countries but particularly in the US, Germany and Brazil. The FBI is engaged in a massive global investigation to identify the perpetrator(s) of the MyDoom cyber crime.
