Threat Rising over Iraq & 11th September Anniversary

London, UK - 30 August 2002, 12:00 GMT - August 2002 is set to be the worst month for overt digital attacks ever since records began in 1995, according to mi2g’s monthly Intelligence Briefing to be released on 2nd September. The total number of attacks for August to date is 5,580 and the cumulative for the first eight months of 2002 is 30,839, a number comparable to the whole of 2001. There were a record 1,120 attacks in just one day on 18th August.
